At La Palapa, we believe that education transforms communities. With the opening of a new classroom this year, we need your help more than ever to keep moving forward.

Your support is urgent: we must raise $100,000 USD during this first semester to ensure that no student loses their opportunity.

Story of Elizabeth

Elizabeth Pérez, from Todos Santos, always dreamed of studying, but her hardworking family’s limited resources barely covered basic needs. Through La Palapa’s Scholarship Program, she was able to complete high school and then university, becoming a teacher and later director of a preschool in her hometown. The support not only eased the financial burden but also gave her the confidence to build a better future.

As she formed her family, she sought the same opportunities for her children. She enrolled her daughter Maya in Puente al Inglés and later at La Palapa School, where Maya now attends middle school with a scholarship and excellent results. Her younger son is preparing to follow the same path. Elizabeth herself decided to study English through Puente al Inglés to grow professionally and offer more tools to the families she serves.

Today, Elizabeth is also an active member of Solifa, the Family Leaders’ Society that collaborates with La Palapa School. Her story shows how La Palapa transforms generations: from a scholarship student to a mother inspiring her children and community, Elizabeth proves that education opens doors and builds hopeful futures.

Story of Evelyn

My name is Evelyn Soledad Castillo Sánchez, and my life has been shaped by La Palapa since I was 7 years old, when I joined the Puente al Inglés program with a scholarship. What began as a simple class became the start of a path full of opportunities. Later, I continued my studies at La Palapa’s secondary and high school, always supported by a full scholarship. That help was not only financial but also emotional: it meant someone believed in me.

For my family, La Palapa was a source of hope and relief during difficult times. Today, I am studying Educational Psychology at the National Pedagogical University, thanks to the scholarship that still supports me. I also work as a shadow teacher for a young girl with autism, an experience that reminds me every day that guidance and support truly transform lives.

I am here because people like you believed in me. To every donor who makes this possible, thank you for planting something as valuable as education in our lives. You are not only helping students to study, you are building futures full of possibilities.

Story of Jocelyn

Hello, my name is Jocelyn, and I am proudly a “Palapera.” This week is all about giving thanks: for your donations, your time, your love, and your effort. Because of you, the lives of so many young people in Todos Santos have changed for the better. La Palapa is not just a school; it is a family that helps us grow as students and as people.

Our teachers and staff push us to dream big, even when our goals seem impossible. I remember a friend who told me: “Without La Palapa, I wouldn’t be studying i would be working.” She was part of the robotics team that won a regional trophy, something made possible thanks to scholarships and your support. Opportunities like this inspire us to believe in ourselves.

Today, I speak on behalf of my classmates to say that your support is not just a number it is something we feel in every exam, soccer game, and science project. You are part of this family, and we will never forget you. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being the reason behind our dreams.

Story of Laura

My name is Laura Barranco, and I studied six years at La Palapa School thanks to a scholarship. When I started middle school, I thought my biggest goal would be finishing high school and working as a waitress or in a store. I never imagined a different future, or that I could aspire to more.

At La Palapa, everything changed. My teachers helped me discover my abilities, taught me to observe and find solutions for my community, and encouraged me to believe in myself. Along the way, I found my true vocation: psychology. Each opportunity and every bit of support showed me that I could dream big.

Today, I am in Puebla, starting my first day at the University of the Americas (UDLAP). This dream is possible because someone believed in me and chose to support me. Your donation did more than give me an education it gave me the chance to change my life forever.
